Yoga classes

Private lessons

Vera adjusting student's warrior I pose - shot by Luke Mulder

Many of my students prefer private classes over going to a studio for the convenience of working around their own schedule and also the benefits of one-on-one instruction, especially if they are new to yoga, with the added benefit of doing a class specifically designed for your body’s needs and goals. Classes are available in-person or online. Please inquire for pricing.

More and more companies are realizing the benefits of a mid-morning or mid-afternoon yoga break! Just 30 minutes of yoga has been proven to improve mood, concentration, and to help relieve tension both in the mind and body, resulting in a happier and more energized workplace! Collaborations

I’m always looking to collaborate with other movement teachers, artists, photographers, and fundraising events! If you have any ideas and would like to get together to discuss, let me know! We are so fortunate to live in such a vibrant community of diverse talents.

Types of classes

  • A vinyasa flow class is designed to help you move. You can gain flexibility, strength, and cardiovascular fitness with a vinyasa class. This class is suitable for all levels and can be modified to suit your needs, whether you are a beginner looking to gain strength and confidence, or intermediate/advanced practitioner looking to deepen your practice and learn new skills.

  • Hatha yoga is great for anyone looking to feel better in their bodies. Focusing on breathwork and slow transitions into poses, hatha yoga combines both energetic and relaxing postures to help massage out your muscles, organs, and trapped energy in the mind.

  • Personally my favourite style of yoga, yin poses are held for 3-5 minutes, allowing the fascial tissues over your muscles to gain flexibility, release tension, and to allow hydration of these tissues. Yin yoga also allows us to tap into our parasympathetic system, as we allow our bodies and minds to enter into stillness and a meditative state.

  • Pilates is a full body workout that uses the core to stabilize movements while the arms and legs act as levers to destabilize and challenge the core. It is unique in that it uses active stretching to strengthen the muscles as well as increase mobility in the joints. Pilates can be modified to be more gentle particularly for practitioners with injuries or pre-existing conditions, and can also be made to be more challenging for fitness enthusiasts looking to increase cardiovascular fitness, and all over strength and balance in the body. All movements originate or pass through the core, including everyday activities like walking, carrying, playing, and even doing household chores, so practicing regularly can have a great impact on overall physical and mental wellbeing.
